Barney pleases his supporters
I'm delighted with him. He is an improving sort, the ground and the trip suited him there. We'll pick up a bit of experience with him and he'll go chasing next year. As he'll get older he'll get stronger. He's just a big baby at the moment and he needs more experience.
Captain back with a bang
That was good, better than good. He done it well but nearly got caught out for the lack of a recent run in the last hundred yards. I'm thrilled with the way he jumped and travelled and I couldn't have been disappointed even if he had got caught. Touch-wood everything will be okay in the morning. The race in Leopardstown (the Grade 1 Bord Na Mona Novice Chase on St Stephen's Day) will probably be his next run. I'll talk to Frank (Berry, J P's racing manager) but he won't run before then.
Torphichen takes Fishery Lane in style
I'm pleasantly surprised. I don't know where he'll go. I'll try to find another suitable race for him somewhere; I'm just pleased he did it as nicely as he did.
D'Estruval puts best foot forward
He's been a bit disappointing. Maybe the bigger track suited him. He'll mix-it through the winter now. He'd be a possibility for Limerick at Christmas and he should pay his way.
Alstar a welcome winner for Goulding & Joyce
First time blinkers have sharpened him up. He has been a great servant.
Bob brings off a gamble
He was placed in all three of his point-to-points and then he got a leg after running in the pointers bumper at Fairyhouse in 2007. That was his first handicap there.
Thegreatjohnbrowne hurts bookies in Naas finale
He's a gorgeous horse but that's it for him in bumpers now. They went very slow there and that wouldn't have suited, he wants a good gallop. He jumps well and he'll go to Leopardstown at Christmas. He was going to run a very nice race at Punchestown before unshipping M J at the last. He was still a bit green out there today. I think a lot of him and if he stays right he'll be a good horse.
