Winning return for Grant aboard Tropical Mist
She's a homebred filly. We have a breeding operation and we race the fillies and sell the colts. This filly will progress and I know they will be telling me at home to try and get some blacktype with her. She may go for the fillies handicap at the Curragh on Derby weekend next, that is a race her mother (Tropical Lady) won.
Flashy scores on his debut
He is a nice professional sort of horse. He has been working well and he goes on fast ground. He had a few little niggly problems and that's why he didn't get out last year. The wet ground last year would have also been against him. It looks like that or maybe a mile is his trip and there is a winners race at Fairyhouse in a few weeks that we might consider for him. He takes after his sire a bit in appearance. He is a nice scopey horse and has similar markings.
Keane gets Queen up to beat King
Its nice summer ground which she needs and her honesty is her biggest asset. It was a good brave ride by Colin, he is a good kid and we needed to claim off of her as there is not much of her. She is the lightest horse in the yard by a long way.
Butterfly justifies her short price
She got put up six pounds for finishing second in the Curragh and it's a good job she didn't have to carry it. She was beaten a short head in the Curragh and it was ridiculous that she got six pounds as she hadn't won a race in nearly two years.
Laser transfers his form to the turf
I didn't know whether he would go in the daylight or not! . He needs that ground and Shane was able to get a breather into him. He is dead genuine and we'll keep him going as long as we have the ground.
34/1 double for Grant as Templar obliges
The last day was a bit soft for him. He's on a decent enough mark and hopefully he can win again.
Seussical just sees off Abbey Vale
Wayne said that they went a slow gallop which didn't suit. He is still very green but he galloped on satisfactorily.
Double for Halford & Foley as Bensoon scores
The ground is the key to him, he loves it like that. He was running fierce consistently at Dundalk and we'll keep him on the go when the ground is like that. He jumps a hurdle as well so he'll mix it.
