Loughran partners Flawless Escape to land opener
He’s a fine big galloping horse and is a chaser for next year.
Mine Now springs 33/1 surprise in Pertemps
He deserves it as we were just nicked for a big pot in Galway. You can put a line through his last run as I went back too soon with him. He needs to run fresh as he’s a small little horse and he puts everything into his runs. We’ve had a great year, our best ever, and it’s all down to everyone at home as we have great staff. I’m delighted for Richie and taking 7lb off is a great help. When we have a chance of going to Cheltenham we might as well go, and that will probably be his next run. He has plenty of pace to travel well in those races. I was always worrying about three miles with him but the dryer ground definitely helped.
Apple's Jade win marred by fatal fall
Davy said if he rode her again he would have got her into a battle earlier. She just loves a battle and won by half a length at the end. The Mares race at Cheltenham is the plan. She’s just five years old and has now won seven Grade 1’s. She has to be out in front every day on the gallops.
O'Brien doubles up in Foxrock with Alighted
He was quite green. He’d been working nicely at home and we liked him and thought he’d run well but felt he’d be a bit immature to win. The penny dropped late and he quickened up well. He should learn a lot from that as Barry said that he was ducking at the rail throughout the race. He’s an immature horse but a horse with an engine. He'll learn a lot and he's an exciting horse to look forward to. He quickened up very well and got to the line very well. It was probably a strong race so really looking forward to him next year when he jumps a hurdle.
Falcon completes double for Meade & Flanagan
I thought he'd win anyway even if the other fella had stayed in. He's a fair steed and he jumps fences a lot better than he jumped hurdles. He used to blitz hurdles out of the ground and when he missed one he just missed it. Going over fences he's changed and he does everything right. I suppose it was a non event after yer man fell but we won't complain about that. We'll see what happens tomorrow now with the other guy (Moulin A Vent). We were going to run him tomorrow but then when we decided when the other lad won the beginners that he was alright and we'd run him in the Grade One and let this lad wait. He could possibly go to Naas for that three-mile race or come back here for the Festival. He might come back here as he likes that nicer ground.
