He is out of a half-sister to Merry Gale. I don't think he'll run again this season and he'll go chasing next term. He handled the better ground there which is great. (EM)

We put blinkers on him the other day and I thought he went slower but desperate men do desperate things because he looked like a good horse at one stage. (EM)
Cullen Strikes Again
It must have been due to the better ground because he surprised me there. He had a few goodish runs in bumpers and he'll go for another handicap now.
Merveilles Has Luck on his Side
I don't think he'd have won if the other horse stood up but they are there to be jumped. We were a bit fed up with him last year as any time he ran it was soft and he can't go on that. He jumps well and if it's a dry summer he may do well and we'll mix it with him to keep him amused. He has to come from behind as he idles in front. (EM)
He was rated 99 over hurdles after a good run at Listowel and he was only dropped 4Ibs in the handicap over six months and we were tempted to take him out of training. His owner, Liam Sheahan is a chemist in Killarney. (EM)
