Well-backed Twomey newcomer does the business
He's a nice horse and I was hoping he'd run a nice race. When I saw he was drawn in 14 and looked at the stats it didn't make great reading. Like a lot of mine first time he was a bit clueless early on but he was able to put it together in the second half of the race, so that was great. He's my first horse for Teme Valley so it's a nice start. He's a nice big horse and will make a fine three-year-old. I'm not sure if he'll run again this year but he might.
Sheila wins for Hogan & Sheridan
We have been hitting the crossbar the last few days and I said coming down today that the chances were we'd finish second, so that's great. Joey (Sheridan) gave her a lovely ride. She was second in Gowran last Saturday over a mile and one-and-a-half furlongs where she just got collared late on. Over a mile from a good draw today she had to go forward and Joey did everything textbook. It's great to get a winner for the Hennellys who have been great supporters of mine down through the years, more so over jumps. Robert bought this one during the summer, she was recommended to me by Matt Hall of Tattersalls. I'm delighted she's done the job for us.
Listowel turning into a bountiful Harvest for Joseph
I thought it was a very good performance. He's a big horse, he must be 16-2 or 16-3. Joseph has taken his time with him, he's always liked him. He's a nice relaxed horse, Shane said he fell out of the gates and around this sharp track it took him a while to get into his stride. He made a lot of ground up off the bend and came wide as well. Once he got going he galloped to the line. I think he's got a big future and I think he could be a decent horse in time. He'd stay well and I think a big galloping track would suit him, you'd love to see him at the Curragh or Leopardstown. He has a great mindset to him.
MacRedmond loses 7lb claim on prolific winner
I nearly have to thank (handicapper) Gary O'Gorman for this win as he put him up 4lb for being third the other day so I was forced to run him today. I saw the ground was a little dead but I knew he'd like it. Cian gave him a super ride, he's lost his 7lb claim now. It took him a while to get rid of it. He was very good on him, very patient, so fair play to him. He's in Barney Curley’s race next week (at Bellewstown) so he might rock up there too. I don't know what weight he'll have to carry there but he's entered in it. If he doesn't run there he'll get a break. That's his sixth win of the year so he's done well. Last year we were going to bin him so it just goes to show you what some of them do, he's just turned around. He's a good fun horse and has been great craic for the lads (owners Mark and Gary Devlin and Joseph McCrory).
