Brouder steers O'Brien's Beau to win Tramore opener
I got her about this time last year when her owner was hoping to win a point-to-point and maybe sell her. She won her point-to-point well but we then couldn't find a buyer for her. The very heavy ground didn't suit her in bumpers and we said we'd give her a few runs over the summer and for one reason or another she didn't show what she was showing at home.
Lleyton, at last, passes the post a winner
that was Paul's (Townend, winning jockey) first time sitting on him and he is not the easiest. Dropping back to two miles, and the pace around here suited him but the loose horse was a bit of a hindrance and my heart was in my mouth. He won by default the last time so he got it properly today and coming down here I felt that he would like the track.

Flanagan returns to Tramore & rides a winner
he was a weak four-year-old and I always thought there was something in him when he'd get stronger and thank God I was rewarded. The boys (the Fastey For Fun Syndicate) lost Icelip here the same day that Cusp Of Carabelli finished second. In fairness in his two handicaps he had two good runs and I always say a couple of runs in handicaps are needed. Hopefully he should improve and he'll make a nice chaser next year. Barry Geraghty said it was too quick for him in Gowran, so I'd say when he gets stronger he will go on softer. I had his mother (Lingual Cusp) and she won three point-to-point's but got injured when she ran on the track.
Black enjoys rub of the green with his 'lucky horse'
what can you say, he was a lucky winner I suppose! When Moonball fell I thought we might win it and then Davy (Russell, on Monatomic) tipped up at the last. He is a lucky type of horse; the last day in Gowran a joint-favourite fell early, and then they had to bypass the last. They are there to be jumped though. We brought him here today because it's a handy track and the fences aren't that big, but Danny said he'd jump a big fence at a bigger track. It all depends on the ground. He was to go out on grass because he is very ground dependent but once the ground stays good, he will run away. Whenever it changes then he'll be off for the winter.
Sonowyouno gives O'Grady his second winner in two days
it was a nice opportunity and he is a nice big horse. He is obviously a good jumper and he stays well. Obviously he has been a bit disappointing and it's nice to get a bracket for him. Hopefully the second horse is overrated at 114 and perhaps he will make into a nice staying chaser now. Luke is riding very well and he got him jumping very well. He gave Spider Web a great ride in the Munster National the other day and it's the first winner he has ridden for me, and I thought he did it very well.
Gamble landed as winning trainer 'isn't surprised'
it wasn't a surprise to me as he was very free the first day in Navan. He always had loads of boot but he was so free it took us a while to settle him over hurdles. He is an Arcadio, is from the family of Rathvinden and is a good little horse and we like him. He is not over big, but he'll jump a fence and while I do hope he will go on winter ground, I don't think he will. He'll go for a maiden hurdle next. Laura rides a good bit of work for me and thanks to her father (trainer Michael Hourigan) for letting me use his gallop. I don't know anymore, it's so long since I had a winner!
