Hughes sees Somethingwonderful
he (Somethingwonderful) is going to be a nice horse and he'll probably get further. He jumps well and his job will be chasing. I don't know whether he'd be quick enough to compete in the good novices; he's a stayer and has a good cruising speed.
Annamh gains another wonderful win
she's been going since back in April and has never missed a beat and will go out for the winter now. She has got big black-type now and we'll bring her back in the spring. She's had a great time in the mares' races and I must thank the pattern committee for putting on such a lovely program. She had a great run of it during the summer and was able to take a step up in class each time and the races were all spread out nicely. Two miles two (furlongs) is too short for her and I was taking a chance today and she'll probably end up being a three-miles filly.
Third win for Tabhachtach
he had a good run at Navan and the ground is probably a help to him as he wouldn't want it too soft. I just thought he was a bit high in the ratings over fences so we switched back to hurdles and if he doesn't go too high, he could go for another hurdle. Mark suits him. He has rode him to all his wins and seems to get the best out of him.
Logistics scores Grade 3 win
it was a good performance and he's a nice novice to have. It's very seldom we would have any two mile horses and I think he's a two-miler.
Cooper records double as Toner takes First
That was great! It's been a lucky race for us as we've won it the last three years. To be perfectly honest I was cheering home Roi Du Mee from the last; he (Roi Du Mee) is some little horse and it would have been great for him to win three in a row but the winner (Toner D'Oudairies) surprised us. He's better in these small field conditions races and that's his Gold Cup for the year. My only mistake was running him, as I would have liked Roi Du Mee to win!
Ingoldsby maiden win for Too Late To Sell
he (Too Late To Sell) had good enough form in handicap hurdles for a big horse and we always thought there would be a day in him. We ended up running him at sharp tracks as that's where the races were but he really needed a big galloping track to help him find his feet early on and not take him off the bridle.
Nothing worth seeing in Bumper finale
he's a machine . he could go round again and has some engine; I've never had a young horse like him. He was fit in the spring but had a problem with a splint so we had to be patient with him and wait. He could be anything though and he had nothing done, was green and only three-quarters ready.
