Denis (O'Regan) rode him the last day and was meant to ride him but he thought McBratney's horse (Gallaside, unplaced) had a bit better form and rode him so I'm glad he got it wrong!,. He was very weak and backward last year and was a complete idiot and took a long time to grow up. His jumping is the key to him, but I think he will also do a job in a 0-65 (flat handicap). My sister Rebecca owns him with Dave Dowling and a syndicate and I'm glad he has won for them as I have given them a few bad horses up to now. This looked another bad one up until now, but he's a grand horse.
God rules supreme for Bolger
He had a nice run at Naas the last day in a winter maiden hurdle and when I saw this race with no bumper winners in it, it was the step to go,. We fancied him but the lads said after the first race that the ground was well watered for a good ground horse but he got the job done and got a lovely ride from Darragh. We'll try and find something for him in Killarney now and he is belonging to a good friend of mine Paul Leonard who is at home watching it . He's after shouting the television down!

He had been running on deplorable ground and we thought this better ground would help him,. We were in two minds whether or not we'd draw the line with him or keep going. If we didn't get a result today we were going to keep him on the go for a novice chase. Brian was in the right place at the right time and came wide up the straight, which was a help and I think 2m5f is short of his best trip.

Derek was absolutely brilliant on her and used all his experience nipping in and out between the wings, that was the winning and losing of the race,. She is a good mare and when we came down we were debating about running her as she will be better on better ground. We might keep her going during the summer now and kick on over hurdles. I can't see her going on really heavy ground but she will be a right good fun horse and I'm delighted for the lads involved.
