Secret gifts opener to Friends
We got a little bit of luck but you need that in this game,. It was unfortunate to see Charles' (Byrnes) horse fall but racing is racing once the horse is alright. Robbie said he wasn't really able to use himself on that ground. We'll keep it low key with him for the minute.
For Bill cruises home under Russell
It was very tough out there today and Davy made her mind up for her,. Adrian (Maguire - Winters' brother-in-law) rode her a piece of work the other day and said she was as fit as a fiddle. She just needed to get the last day out of her system (fourth over hurdles at Leopardstown). We'll come back here in a fortnight's time for the Grade 3 Novice Chase.
Grey grabs spoils on line
She's a good mare and is improving all the time,. She was flat out for the last mile-and-a-half but just kept battling. I was quietly confident coming here. She was only beaten four lengths by a decent horse of Eric McNamara's (Questions Answered) at Limerick and I don't think she got the credit for that. I have nothing in mind short-term but she could be a Irish National type.
Bishopsfurze gets job done
I think going right handed suited a bit better today. The extra trip and slow pace helped as well,. He enjoyed himself from the start today and hopefully a performance like that will help his jumping and give him a bit of confidence. We'll keep him to races down the country and over longer trips.
Choill crashes out as Pier lunges late
He was obviously fortunate but we think he will improve and he'll be better on better ground. He should also mature as an individual.
Ballinahow proves game
She's a very tough lady,. She got a bit of black-type at Limerick last time and she'll go for another handicap now. Hopefully there is another handicap hurdle in her. We'll go chasing next season with her.
O'Callaghan off mark as Suzie suprises
We ran this filly as a four-year when we shouldn't have as she was big and backward,. That was her first run back and she was spot on for the job. We'll look for a winners' bumper now.
