Termagant Good on her Debut
I wasn't surprised at all, I've always thought she was quite useful. She has a nice pedigree, there is a champion grass horse in America on her page (Vanlandingham). She'll definitely get a mile and a quarter or a mile and a half eventually. She was bought for some clients who then pulled out. We gave E34,000 for her and despite the recession, she is worth a bit more now.
Lyons/Latham/Jones on the Mark Again
I've always liked him but I ran him too soon at Dundalk and he was never going to be a five furlong horse. Because of that it was nearly like he was having his first run at Leopardstown the next time and he didn't show the improvement I thought he might. He is a good honest horse with a good attitude.
Gold Gets Better and Better
We plan to give him a bit of a break now as he has had a few runs in quick succession. I'm considering the Scurry Handicap at the Curragh on Derby Day and if that comes a bit soon there is the seven furlong handicap at Galway.
Duff Lands a Deserved Group 3
That is well deserved. He has won four Listed races over three different trips and it is good to get a Group 3 win with him. He has an entry at Ascot in the Golden Jubilee and we might as well have a go. He owes us nothing.
Orpailleur Gains Another Success for Morgan
Basically a mile or a mile and a furlong is his trip and he likes that ground. It is great that he has won again and he likes being out in front.
O'Brien Wins Again at Leopardstown
From a bad draw he gave him a decent enough ride. This horse has been disappointing but he always works really well at home. He bounces off that ground and we may go for another mile race at Fairyhouse next week.
Oxx One Two as Berry Doubles Up
It was a pity to have to run the two of them in the one race. There aren't many opportunities for three-year-old maidens. Sunwise liked the distance and the ground and the ground probably beat Pittoni. He shouldn't be too long a maiden.
