Tempo Mac makes winning chase debut
he didn't jump great early and can be the same over hurdles but all credit has to go to Luke, who gave him a good ride; he got him popping away, and thankfully he jumped the last two when he needed too - I wouldn't like to be riding him anyway!
Ted's Tramore specialist wins again
he is a Tramore horse and has won three around here now. He is only seven, will win a few more around these type of tracks and jumps well. He’ll probably have to go into a better type of race now but might run here on Sunday in a race over two six. I’ll see what Ruby says and I'll declare him and see how he is - if is he 100% he might run, if not he'll be in at Killarney and places like Downpatrick.
Full Cry follows-up on Kilbeggan win
I'm delighted. I took a bit of a punt running him again but he seemed in great form and it worked out. I hoped he'd enjoy the track and the trip, which he seemed too. I'm delighted to win for the lads (the Garristown Aintree Syndicate), but I'm especially delighted to win the race named after Jerry Widger. He was great friend of the family. He will have a break now. There is a 123 or less novice chase at Clonmel at the end of September, hopefully we will still qualify for it.
Maddens score another father/son win
I thought he'd win at Kilbeggan but the trip of two mile three (furlongs) probably caught him out. It was messy race there and the two in front probably took each other on too early, and set it up for the winner. It's great that he came out today and won. I don't know where he'll go now.
Coolfighter claims 12th career success
that's three in-a-row over hurdles for him now. He was lame after Killarney and was very lame for three or four days after that and I actually thought he was gone. I nursed him back and he hadn't done any work until now, that was his first bit. That should set him up for Sunday hopefully and he'll come back for the 0-123 (handicap hurdle). David said he got a little bit tired after the last but I'd expect that out of him. He missed a full week after Killarney, and we were only trotting him the week after that. We had to come here, they all wanted him to come here so I had no choice! He loves this place. We will see how he is in the morning and hopefully he'll back on Sunday.
