I took a chance running her over a mile as there weren't that many suitable opportunities and it worked out. The slower ground might have helped but the lad who rides her out (amateur rider James Dowling, who partnered his first bumper winner at Roscommon recently) said she was in very good form.

the ground was not a help. He's entered in the E100,000 Nasrullah Handicap here next Thursday (formerly the Golden Pages Handicap) over the same trip and could go for that but has some competition (with three other stablemates also entered - Einstein's Folly, Chance To Dance and Teoirim)!

I would have been delighted if he had been placed and I'd say the ground going a bit softer probably inconvenienced some of the others. I thought he was going to be tailed off half a mile out, but in fairness the last day was the only bad run he's had and the plan now is for the Galway Hurdle and as far as I know Davy Condon will ride him there.
Apprentice's dream win on debut ride for Oxx
it's Gary's first ride for us and he did very well. We were a bit worried about the ground and even though she is by Selkirk she is only a light little thing. She's entered at Killarney and it's possible she could go there.
