Missy completes hat-trick in Limerick opener
She just hacked around and will come on a good bit for the run. She will go chasing now. I was planning on running her yesterday (at Fairyhouse) but the ground was a bit quick. She jumps well, and we'll find a mares beginners chase for her when there is a little ease in the ground.
Progressive Run takes Listed honours
He's definitely improving away. If the ground turns soft here he could go to the Open meeting at Cheltenham for a Graded novice. If it goes soft overall we can give him a break until next spring. You wouldn't know that he's improved much at home as he doesn't show a lot.
Pearl enjoys better fortune back at Limerick
It looked a great opportunity for her. She was entered at Fairyhouse yesterday but when I saw the entries for this race it looked a weak race. I thought she would have won at Galway, and the ground was a bit too soft the last day at Navan. The owner, Philip McGee, came here instead of seeing his nephew playing in the Cavan county final today.
Friendless Bulletin wins for McNamara
That's the third time he's won around Limerick and he stays well. Mark gave him a good confident ride. We decided to ride him a bit more prominent today because when he gets crowded or into a battle he can give up the ghost. He wouldn't like the ground too heavy.
Lieutenant earns stripes for de Bromhead
I’ve loose schooled him since he came to me and he’s one of those horses that just gets it right every time. I wanted to buy him when he was in the Derby Sale but didn’t have enough to get him. It’s funny the way things work out. I’ll have to see what Michael and Eddie want to do but he could go for the two and a half miles Grade 2 at Down Royal. It’s nice to get today out of the way. He’s a really exciting horse.
Tiger roars to Munster National success
All credit to Eddie O'Leary as I wanted to take him out with the ground drying up all the time. He was right and I was wrong. We have been lucky in all the Nationals this year. Donagh has only had a few rides for us but has been very lucky winning the Galway Plate as well.
Undressed a welcome winner for Hourigan
He's a big old horse and a dour stayer. They went quick enough and I thought they would come back to him in the straight. The boys (the winning Golf At Ballyneety Syndicate) were getting a bit fed up and to be honest so was I. I'm just happy to have a winner.
