Wannabe shows her true colours in Cork opener

I thought she'd win first-time out last year but she ran absolutely stink. I don't have a notion why but it goes back to the old saying about two-year-olds first-time out. She was smart today and her sister, by Galileo, made 1.5 million at Newmarket last year so she is valuable and we'll be going black-type hunting. She toughed it out well and her mother was tough and won a couple of Listed races and a Group 3 race so if she turns out as good as her she'll be alright.

Jock strikes for Kiely & Gleeson

Ted Durkan is now an agent and he bought him for the Gleesons and it doesn't look like he made a mistake. We are very pleased because he probably needed the run the last day and it was good he justified that Navan run. He doesn't look short of pace and we're hoping he will continue to improve another bit and the plan is to go hurdling later in the year.

it was a good competitive handicap and he got a good ride from Ben Coen. I wasn't certain we were up as the second horse was finishing so quick and today was the plan for him. We'll wait and see and look for the next sponsored 1m2f handicap for him, probably during the Guineas weekend. I'm very pleased with the way the horses are running and also the way they are being ridden. Chris Hayes, Oisin (Orr) and Ben (Coen) are all riding exceptionally well for me.

He showed a great attitude and resolution and had to do it the hard way. We don't know how good a maiden that was and he will improve a lot from that. We don't know how far he will go but hopefully there will be a nice big handicap in him. What we'll take out of today is his gutsiness as he was green today and still fought for Gary. It's a good start for his career.
