Jennies back to her best
I'm delighted. She was caught out by the very deep ground at Limerick. She travelled very well then but just stopped. We knew that if she was back to her Punchestown run (second behind Pride ofthe Parish) that she'd have a chance. Ian said he rode her more patiently and she's seen out the trip well.
It's Marito but only just
He put in a good round of jumping, bar four out, where he showed he was able to fiddle one. He's in the Arkle (Sunday January 27th Leopardstown) - I don't know if that's too soon for him but we'll have a look at it. He could go two and a half miles . I think he'll stay no problem.
Spirit tops at Naas
I'm delighted. He had a very good run at Gowran but when he came home he was lame. He missed two weeks work. Andrew (Ring) gave him a lovely ride at Leopardstown last time. He gave a blow two out and improved nicely from it. We'll mix it between hurdles and fences with him now. He's been a difficult horse as he's had plenty of injuries.
Thepartysover but Hayes is more than happy
It was a great ride . he gave him a great spin. We expected him to do it in Limerick last time but we got our day today. The horse deserved it. I needed it too . I'm only a small fella and it's hard to keep going. I needed it so badly it's unreal. I thought he was in trouble three out as he was boxed in but he sat and waited. I was afraid this might have come a bit soon but he's a tough horse. That's his third win over hurdles and hopefully we might still get one over fences with him. I only have two in training . I'm only a part-time trainer.
Well-touted Tiger up to the task
He got there like he was going to bolt-up and he just got a little bit tired. He's a nice horse and I thought he would win. He just began to tie up and he'll appreciate better ground. The four-year-old winners bumper at Leopardstown is the logical plan and we'll see how he gets on there.
