Geraghty has A Great View of Punchestown
He's progressing and has done well since he won at Limerick. He's only four and should do well with time. We'll tip away quietly and he's a nice horse to have in the yard. He needs to step up again but we'll take small steps at the moment and see where that takes us.
Oscar Sam another for favourite backers
He was travelling that well I let him stride on coming to the second last and the ground in the straight is maybe the heaviest. Maybe I went a shade too soon as he was tying up in the end but he did it well. He stays really well and we'll find another handicap for him over Christmas. They went a good gallop and he stayed going. His brother (Our Duke) runs at Navan (in a Listed bumper) next Sunday.
Djakadam totally dominant in John Durkan
I was thinking going to the bend 'there's a horse coming up my inside. There's no room there, best of luck!' The next minute I collided and I felt it hitting off the back of me and I was thinking 'gees I hope there's no-one on that as you couldn't be going where he was going'. Then when I saw him coming loose I was thinking 'gees maybe that's why it was happening, he was loose'. There was a good bunch of horses there. I did expect something to be coming to my tail turning in. He was second in a Gold Cup as a six-year-old to a very, very good winner. There's a long way to go. I'm sure he'll run a lot more in the Lexus when he takes on Don Poli and a few more. That'll be a helluva race. Valseur Lido will appreciate stepping out in trip, and both of them will come on a lot from that run. Henrietta Knight said he (Djakadam) will win the Gold Cup so I’ll quote her.
Sumos Novios forges through heavy gound
He's a horse that has had a lot of problems and had the potential to be very good. He'd suspensory trouble after running at Thurles (in February) and at the time I had the good novice handicap at Navan in mind. He's entered in the Paddy Power but I don't think he'll get in. There is a race at Fairyhouse on New Years Day but he may wait for the Thyestes and should get into that. In fairness to Robbie he'd never sat on him until today and it was a real horseman's ride.
Meade delighted with his Tamlough Boy
The owner, Jimmy Kernohan (from Co Antrim) has had horses for years and I'm delighted that it looks like he could have a good one. He's one of the nicest owners you could have. He was very green and we may give him another run or two in bumpers and then leave him off until next year. He's a gangly type but has a great turn of foot. Every time he works he comes up in front and the good ones are usually like that. I'd say it was a good race.
