Expedition scores despite market drift
He was green rather than being outpaced and when the penny dropped he came home well. The winner was sold last October at the Goffs Orby Yearling Sale for €280,000. Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes
O'Shea off the mark for new boss
It's about time he won. He was second in two maidens but they probably weren't too bad.
Zeftan scores for McCreery & Hussey
He did it well and we will see what the handicapper does now but he might go to Leopardstown. He will go further and he has a fair future. The way things worked out he was unlucky at Dundalk. He is sharp enough for a mile but he is bred to stay.
Jackiemil lands Limerick gamble
that's her second win around here and she is a good filly. She ran well from five pounds out of the handicap at Naas and still ran well from a bad draw. For those reasons I thought she had a great chance today and while she's entered at Gowran on Wednesday, won't run. We'll find another handicap for her somewhere again next.
Top hats ready as Meain wins Molony Stakes
we can get out top hats out now because the plan from here is to run at Royal Ascot. The Wolferton Stakes, a limited handicap on Gold Cup day, is now on his agenda and hopefully he won't get anything for winning this as he appeared to run to his mark. We thought coming here that the track, ground and trip suited and while he normally makes the running, Bolger's filly (An Saincheann) went off at a million miles an hour and we just sat-in. he was very unlucky when he fell in the Boylesports Hurdle at Leopardstown as it seemed to affect him mentally and didn't seem happy over hurdles after. He'll be kept going in those Listed races now though and probably won't return to hurdling as he is good enough at this job.
Todd justifies favouritism under King
He got a lovely ride and he (Connor King) is a really good kid. I was concerned about the ground but I knew the step up in trip would suit. He will be better on better ground.
Dial shows Speed to take the last
That's five wins for him now and he has nearly won €40,000 in win and place prizemoney . I couldn't get €4,500 for him last September and it's a good job now! . After Gowran (April 8th) I was going to give him a break and I had his hindshoes off but he was in such good form I decided to continue with him.
