she did what you'd expect and Leigh was pleased with her. He said she got a little tired in the last furlong but he gave her a nice confident ride. I wanted her to have an easy introduction because she's a timid filly; we'll see how she progresses over the next couple of weeks and I see her as a Group class filly.

he was dropped 12lbs over the winter and was a bit unlucky here last week when something came across him just when he was making his run. It's a pity Pat Smullen couldn't ride him today as he was suspended; Pat said after he came in last week that he'd win the next day.

she's a weak filly and took a bit of time to come to hand. She's out of a sister to Ashkalani and she'll probably get a bit further.

Warbird makes all for Gowran win

it wasn't ideal making his own running but he has a bit of experience and liked it around there before. He's a straightforward horse with a good attitude and is out of a Galileo mare and could get further. He should progress and maybe something like the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot could suit him.

Piri has Ascot in his sights

He was off with a leg injury for a year but had a good holiday down in Cork near his owner David Spratt. To be honest his work was only average but we hoped the racecourse would light him up. Colin said he took a blow about two furlongs out and thought that was it but he kept on well. We are trying to build a good team together for Royal Ascot and he's still on the team!

New syndicate get off to a flyer

The syndicate only leased him off me about three weeks ago. A different syndicate only had him a couple of weeks last year before he won at Listowel!. Rory missed the boat as he is suspended but he had a chat with Niall this morning and Niall gave him a super ride. He works well at home and is very honest. Hopefully he can get another one.
