Ya gotta Love this outcome as National winning handler signs off
I thought yesterday was the highlight but they came through for me. I never ever thought it would happen again today, it's a fairytale,. The horse came through for me, he jumped like a buck, and Sarah gave him a wonderful ride. It's special for it to happen here and Peter Roe was very good to name the race after me, that was moving. Having had the Irish National winner here as well it's a lovely way to finish. This is my second biggest day, I will never forget it. We are changing roles, he'll just boss me about a bit more!
Rose makes good day better for the Faheys
She had a battle on her hands but she got the best of it,. She'll come back here in a couple of weeks time for a 0-116. We'll aim for that. She's thriving this year and she settled today in her race, which was grand and helped her get home. She's a progressive mare and next year over fences she might even go higher. We'll take it one day at a time. She a huge big mare, she's 17 hands, she's as big a mare that is out there but she makes good use of herself. Her head seems to have come right this year so it's great.
Gold makes light of absence to win Fairyhouse feature
It was a good performance. We thought that she might need the run, on her first run back in a competitive race like that,. She was very solid last year, and tough. This kind of track and big fences seems to suit her so hopefully we'll have a crack at some of those good staying chases through the spring. She's a mare going the right way. She was a Grade B winner over hurdles and graded placed last year so to get the graded win over fences is great. The Irish National was the plan last year but it got cut short. Hopefully that could be the plan again.
Forza Milan puts deserved chase success on the board
He deserved to win something,. Looking at him there, I didn't think he was that slow, but he definitely wants trips. He just barely got away with today. Kevin said he was flat out for the last mile but he just kept galloping the same pace and jumped well when it mattered. He's after winning and being placed here a couple of times so I suppose the Irish National is going to be his aim. He ran so well in the Porterstown so it's the obvious thing to do. Another mile, when they'll be going a stride slower, will suit him. Kevin gave him a very good ride there. I'm delighted for the owners and the horse. I had the Kim Muir in my head, because he's well handicapped in England, but I wonder is he too slow looking at him there. He was placed in the 'four-miler' last year and maybe we'll go back for that. If he doesn't go to Cheltenham we could look at a national trial.
Whatdeawant gets Cheltenham quote after good debut win
It was a nice performance and nice to have a winner for Bernardine and Sean Mulryan,. He looks smarter on the racetrack than he does at home, that'll do me. I'd imagine he'll go for a winners or we could go straight to Cheltenham with him. Patrick was very happy with his performance.
