Aretesone sheds his maiden tag for Walshs
It was quite a hot pace in Kilbeggan and he ran a bit keenly so dad gave him a break after that and freshened him up. He felt a stronger and better horse today. He has probably brought to the track what he has probably shown dad at home a few times. I'd say until it rains he probably will (keep him on the go) but I don't know as we hadn't discussed much further than today.
Abbey Magic conjures up a narrow victory
She had improved a lot from the last day and she might improve again. I don't know where she will go now but she is a chaser really, that's what she'll do next year. We will mind her this year, she might get a break or we could run her at Christmas somewhere. Trip is not a problem to her, she has plenty of pace. She just needs to strengthen up a bit. She couldn't win a mares' maiden point-to-point but she was weak.

Ruby completes Wexford double on Magic
He won well today but it probably wasn't the strongest race in the world. It's good to get that out of the way. He won his point-to-point by twenty-five lengths and we thought he was going to be a Grade 1 horse. He then won his bumper by ten lengths with Katie on him. He is way better over fences and there might be a staying handicap chase in him down the line. He will probably stay in novice company for the moment. He is owned by Charles and Zorka Wentworth and they have been very good to me and Katie over the years. They bought Caspar Netscher from Katie.
