Aretesone moves into contention at Wexford© Photo Healy Racing
Ted Walsh's Aretesone (4/1) stayed on stoutly to prevail in the opening two and a half mile maiden hurdle at Wexford.
He was patiently ridden by Ruby Walsh with the pair in fifth coming round the home bend.
They jumped the penultimate flight in fourth before making good headway to get on terms at the last.
Aretesone kept on well along the run-in to beat 7/4 favourite Hidden Charmer into second by a length and three parts. Cresus De Grissay who did much of the front-running, was a further couple of lengths back in third at 16/1.
Ruby Walsh said: "It was quite a hot pace in Kilbeggan and he ran a bit keenly so dad gave him a break after that and freshened him up.
"He felt a stronger and better horse today. He has probably brought to the track what he has probably shown dad at home a few times.
"I'd say until it rains he probably will (keep him on the go) but I don't know as we hadn't discussed much further than today."
