Russell completes Galway treble
I looked at the race last night and thought there wouldn't be a lot of pace in the race so decided to make the running and it worked out well!. It was a nice pot to get and he's been a great servant. It has started him off on the right note for the season and he'll go back chasing now and will stay at that for the season. He'll run next in the Ballyhack Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse in six weeks time . it's a race he won last year and finished second in the previous year. He probably shouldn't have run in the Irish National last year, when he didn't stay the trip in the soft ground, and should have run the following day in the Dan Moore Chase but we'll stick to chases between two miles and two and a half miles this season.
Mullins/Ruby take Galway feature
he was a bit keen early and recovered well from two mistakes. In fairness it was a good performance and he keeps surprising me.

If ever a horse was due one it was him.

He's a real genuine horse and he's been consistent. It's lovely that he's won one of these as he's not really a bumper horse and he'll go hurdling now.
