The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Sure Cert, trained by Thomas Foley, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
L.T. McAteer, rider of Sure Cert trained by Thomas Foley, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran flat and never travelled
J.A. Powell, rider of Cobb And Co trained by M.C. Grassick, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left under pressure
The Stewards interviewed W.T. Byrne, rider of Gregory's Gift, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found W. T. Byrne in breach of Regulation 10.3.G, excessive frequency. Having considered W. T. Byrnes record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion

An extended handicap for three years old and upwards rated 45-70 Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 10st 2lbs and the minimum weight is 8st 6lbs Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra for each race won. Riders - Apprentices who hold an Apprentice Licence under Rules of Racing issued by any recognised Turf Authority and who have not lost the right to claim the 7lb allowance (30 winners) Allowances - (up to and including 23rd September and which are not cumulative) Apprentices who have not ridden one *winner allowed..........7lb Apprentices who have not ridden three *winners allowed..........4lb Apprentices who have not ridden twenty *winners allowed..........2lb *Including races under any N.H.
