Garden Of Eden shows her battling qualities at Naas
Revoke creates a good impression on debut
Colin said she’s done what we said she’d do at home which is lovely. That’s her first time away and her first time galloping on turf. We do that as I’m adamant I don’t care if they are beaten first time out as they get a second bite, and then we know where we can go with them. We won’t shy away with her, from what we can get at two, and heading for black-type as she’s quick. We’ll just see how she takes this as there is nothing of her and she’s only a 410 kilos filly. She’ll either come forward from this or she’ll go back so she’ll tell me what to do. Worst case scenario she’ll be in Dundalk for the Mercury or something like that.
Rebel Diamond shines for Lupini and Lee
He was unfortunate in Sligo where he got stuck in a wee bit of traffic and had to come around them. Today’s straight six was fine and he’s a nice horse that is going the right way. Hopefully, he can keep improving. He toughed it out well and six is probably his trip. We hadn’t thought beyond today, but it’s a possibility that he could come back for the final of this series. He’s ground dependent and if it’s heavy ground it wouldn’t suit him.
Shandy leaves punters punch-drunk at 50/1 in feature
She ran well in the Listed race here the last day (in sixth) and won the race on her side. We were drawn 11 and 12 and the middle is the worse place to be, so we took a chance and it worked out. The ease in the ground helped as she needs an ease in the ground. We tried different things with hoods as she over-raced once or twice and it all came together today.
Theriverrunsdeep in Naas as well as Dundalk
Cleary boots home 398/1 double aboard Chicago Storm
He has plenty of ability but has just taken a bit of working out. Jack gave him a lovely ride and I’d say he’s a young man going places. He’s a horse that probably likes a bit of space, so I told Jack to give himself the option to go wide. He’s a fun, dual-purpose horse and hopefully getting his head in front will give him a bit of confidence.
Complete Fiction and Bennett team up well in Naas
He had a nice run in Leopardstown (eighth) the other night and he bounced out of it well. He was too consistent last year and went up too much, and he just needed to come back down in grade. Neve gave him a great ride and her 7lb claim was a big help. He can win at that level and is just not able for the next level.
Traynor savours Fiver Friday's first Irish victory
She’d done all her winning before in Scotland and just could never get her head in front here. The last day in Down Royal it turned out she was in season. We knew she handled the course here from her maiden form (third on debut) and for her to get her head in front in Ireland is brilliant. They went plenty hard early on to set it up for her and Wayne (Hassett) used his head. He said she loved the hill as well and maybe that’s her trip.
