Ellthea gets Group 3 win to her name
Obviously she is a talented filly but she has just suffered with being in season all summer really. Every time we took her away she was in season and not performing. There is a little bit of temperament to her which when she uses in the right way she is very useful. We would have gone to Ayr on Saturday for a Group 3, and we were just saying how about that for luck with it being called off and now having a Group winner. We'll take that all day long. I'm not sure if she will run again. We were thinking if she nicked a bit of black type we would probably pack her in for the year but Colm said she did that pretty easily and was a bit lonely in front. So we might look for something else yet.
Renneti gets the job done in the Loughbrown
Hopefully this time of year he will keep getting the ground he likes with plenty of dig in it. He'll probably stick to this sort of trip and he could go for the race in Ascot (Long Distance Cup).
Power prevails under McCullagh for Mullins
She told me that I'd under cooked her at Fairyhouse. She needed the run and was bucking and kicking since she ran on Wednesday, so we said we'd take a chance and come here today. Thankfully it's worked out. I was minding her too much, and Niall said she was a lot easier handled today. She was very gassy in Fairyhouse and it was a rotten day as well. Maybe she will come back here for the (final of the series) big pot but Niall said she would have to be ridden to get seven. She just handled the ground today. There are plenty of races for her, and I might even go for black type rather than the big pot.
Quiet completes Group 3 double for Burke
We had to take our time with her and it's just a shame that things didn't go right early on (in the year). Hopefully she comes out of this well and roll on four weeks for Ascot, and if the ground comes up soft she will give Harry Angel a race. On soft ground this filly is very good and she can only sharpen up for that run. Win, lose or draw she has been an absolute star for us, and it's just great to get her back. She heads to Tattersalls in December. That's where she'll go after Ascot. The time today (1m 13.19sec) isn't too shabby on the ground, and obviously the second horse led Caravaggio for a long time last time so the form is all working out. The main thing for us is that she pulls out fine in the morning. We will be able to float her into Ascot now. We won't have to push her at all, and can give her a nice easy week or two and then pick her up for a week or so. She has a great temperament and has been a pleasure to be around.
Tylery leads home 1, 2 for Midgley
It's a nice surprise to be perfectly honest as I thought the ground would be too slow for him. He got a length out of the gate and never really looked like he was going to get beat. He battled away good on ground that is probably too slow for him. Monsieur Joe has run great as well. Age is probably catching up a little bit with him but he's still got plenty of will to win. I think Tylery Wonder finished fourth in this race last year and won it the year before. He won too well at York and the handicapper murdered him. It's taken him until now to get back to a winning mark.
Saxon provides O'Brien with 17th Beresford
Ryan was delighted with him. We were worried about the ground and Ryan said it's not his ground but he was very happy with him. He travelled very strong and quickened very well. He can run again but he doesn't have to. Ryan said he had plenty of speed and felt very pacey, and we always thought he would stay. He's a classic colt. He's very inexperienced. We put in the two horses (against him) and they are going to be decent middle distance horses. He had to learn a lot and he to be decent to do what he did. We are going to leave seven in the Arc tomorrow. Order Of St George, Idaho, Highland Reel, Capri, Winter, Seventh Heaven and Cliffs Of Moher. That's what we are going to leave in and we will decide after that.
O'Donoghue doubles-up on Pincheck
He couldn't run when I wanted him to in the Cambridgeshire because he came out in spots. I took him out on Irish Champions Weekend as I thought the heavy ground and a mile and a quarter would be too far for him. I wasn't worried about the ground today going a mile. The bit of time I’ve given him has really stood to him. He's really grown into himself. He's been ultra consistent this year, and he'll most likely be put away now and stay in training next year.
