Clarens seals his hat-trick for Flavin
He would have learned more today than ever before because he was shuffled back further than we wanted, and to be fair to Jack, he sat with him and had to come wide. Thankfully he jumped the last well and stayed going. It was lovely. He's improving all the time. Today was the plan, there is a novice handicap in Leopardstown on St Stephen's Day and we might go there but he's been on the go now plenty long enough. We'll see how he is in the next couple of days before making any definite plans as he might need a break. He's a tough little lad but he's only four so I don't want to empty him either. We'll give him a few days on the beach and he'll tell me.
Noah's Light brings up plenty of bets in Navan
I'm delighted with him. He's owned by my friend Michael Ryan, he got the horse for very handy money,. I was actually offered him at a minimum price myself as a young horse. I didn't take him and offered him to Michael. That's life and I'm sorry I don't own him now but I'm delighted my good friend Michael does. I knew he'd stay because he's got a very good pedigree, his dam is a half-sister to Fair Along. I was happy enough coming down the straight that we'd gone a nice gallop. He had a lovely run here the last day and was obviously going to improve. Michael would be a selling man so he'll probably be gone now.
Unbeaten Hollow Games finds plenty for pressure
He's a nice horse, it turned into a sprint. Davy said after the race 'he's not as slow as you think he is, when it turned into a sprint he quickened, put his head out and galloped'. I was worried as they went no gallop but he will have learned a lot there. I think he'll go to Naas now (Lawlors Of Naas Grade 1 Novice Hurdle). He's a horse that races behind the bridle but he's a real nice horse. It's great for Noel and Valerie as it's local and it's on television today.
Futurum Regem in a different league to his rivals
He's a small little horse, he needed a light weight on his back and good ground,. He was never able to carry weight and hopefully the handicapper will see that and won't be too hard on us. He's ground dependent and if the ground turns we'll probably run him in Dundalk, even though he doesn't like it that well. If he's in good form we might give him a run or two and then bring him back for the spring. We're very lucky here today to get good ground. We're a small team, I'm a farmer, and was only doing it as a hobby for years but my nephew Eoghan Finegan is very keen and has got an amateur licence so we are upping things a wee bit. We've put a gallop in and hopefully things will kick on from here.
Kapard gets the better of the odds-on favourite
The Model Kingdom a filly to follow
I got heart failure because he (Pat Taaffe) went so soon on her!. The last thing I said as he was going out was 'the last fence Pat don't be in front before then'. I thought she was going to get caught and I did sweat a bit in the last furlong. I would have been disappointed if she was beaten today but having said that I've been disappointed so often coming racing. I suppose we'll look at the Dublin racing festival with her. If she gets through that she'll probably have another run somewhere. There is the mares race in Liverpool and if she won at Leopardstown you could think about Cheltenham. She is a bit buzzy but she has quietened down well. She's from a very good family.
