Mr Showtime puts in a winning display
He is a totally different horse on that ground - it's quite incredible the difference it has made to him. It's funny, when he was going out on the track on fast ground in his bumper at Roscommon he nearly gave a buck and a squeal when he got out on it and lit up on it. He jumped brilliantly and will give us a bit of fun during the summer. The reason I dropped him back in trip, from his bumper win, was he would be running here with a winners' penalty so I had to come here. He'll probably go for a winners' race but he jumps so well, you wouldn't be afraid to put him in a handicap either. He has plenty of boot and is from the same family of Denman.
Khalessi scores for Nagle/Mullins
she deserved to win one and got a good ride - I thought if she received a good ride she’d win!. He (the handicapper) can’t overreact to that and she’ll go for a handicap hurdle next.
Kilganer Queen rules in Limerick
She is a lovely mare and we bought her after she won her point-to-point in Kilfeacle and was always a nice, nice mare. Donie McInerney rode her the last day and gave her a lovely ride and I'm very lucky to have Rachael (Blackmore) on my horses. We'll see what the handicapper does but she'll turn out soon enough and won't spend too much time over hurdles as she is a natural chaser.
Dream first winner at 66/1 for O'Reilly
She hinted at having ability once or twice but it was a surprise because she never fulfilled much. I got frustrated with her on the Flat and over hurdles so decided to go chasing even though she is only five. She likes this ground and that's the key to her and it's the first opportunity on that ground for a while. She'll probably get a fair handicap mark now as she beat a couple of nice horses but I might be tempted to go back hurdling with her at some stage again because she has a low mark over hurdles. She's a winner today so that's the main thing and it's nice for her owners John Bowes and Pat Lynch, who are from Galway, and are good supporters of mine.
Grand purchase moves past E100,000 mark
she is so slick over her fences - she isn’t big but has so much scope and Paul had a big grin on his face there and wanted to go around again. We’ll look for something similar if we can find a similar race but on that good ground over the summer tracks, she’ll be very hard to catch. There is no long-term plan but Galway Plate is an option - she’ll probably get an entry but could also go back over hurdles.
Aranhill Rascal and O'Regan take the spoils
I've always thought a little bit of the horse but a few of his owners were trying to get rid of him but I kept my faith in him. Through no fault of mine or the horse's, he has got into a few scrapes and it has affected his confidence and his jumping went to pieces at Roscommon the last day. I was hoping he'd do what he did today some day and it was a case of getting the ability out of him one day.
Gagas Horse a welcome winner for Maguire
I fancied him - coming back to two miles and getting 7lbs from Minella Beau and I also stuck a hood on him because in Mallow he just did too much. It was a good performance and if he's not sold, he'll go hurdling.
