Zarzyni a name to remember after impressive Gowran win
He was working well and ready to start but most of ours take a run so it was hard to know. We had only run one two-year-old so far, so it’s promising for the rest of them at home,.
"Honest fella" Raffaello has the layers running for cover
He’s well-related and his two sisters won for me. Dolce Strega won a Group 3 and Bumbasina was Listed placed. He’s an honest fella but had some terrible draws. That’s the first day he had a good draw and I’m delighted,.
Halford and Whelan team up for 44/1 plus Gowran double
I thought he ran well in a Premier Handicap at the Curragh the last day and he’s slowly coming down the handicap. He’s probably not as good on grass as the all-weather but the race cut up nicely. He did it well but when you get four non-runners and a small field for good prize-money then you know you’re luck is in. He’ll go to the Curragh on Derby weekend for a seven-furlong handicap.
Breakthrough for Scorpion Black at the 14th attempt
He’s been consistent and ran a bit keen with the visor last time in Listowel. A refreshed Chris Hayes gave him a lovely ride. He battled well and went to the line well,.
Whatharm justifies strong support for in-form Flynn
He’s owned by Brendan and Bridy Cooney who have been with me for years, and I won with a half-sister of this horse called Faleena. We were afraid to hold him today as he was very keen the last day and got a bit tired. He’d a better draw, although I’d say he would have won from any draw today. We’ll find something similar for him.
Peach expected to progress after maiden win
Olympic Honour gains deserved win for Nicholson
He deserved that. He’s a tough little horse and we’re getting good fun out of him. It’s nice to get a winner at the local track. Andy gave him a right good ride and I knew he was better than he was the last day. I told him to jump out and make the best of his way home. We’ll go now to the Apprentice Derby in the Curragh. I hope Andy can ride him and I’d say he’ll stay a mile and a half no problem. A little ease in the ground probably suits him as well. It’s six months since I had a winner so that’s very welcome.
