Odds-on Terminal scores on Irish debut
There wasn't that much pace on and he was quite keen so I was pleased with how much he found. I think he stays well and we will find a novice hurdle for him now. Once he is upped in Grade we will see how much he improves. I was happy with that and very pleased with his jumping.
So completes quick double for Mullins & Walsh
Ruby was not afraid to make the pace and he did it well from the front. He jumped well and is a horse with lots of stamina. His best trip is way beyond that. The Boyne Hurdle here next month is a possibility. He will be entered in the Champion Hurdle and the World Hurdle at Cheltenham in March. In a fast run two mile race he would be competitive but I have no doubt that his future lies over two mile plus.
Top weight Baby records comfortable win
I thought we were going to go novice chasing after this. It seems they have to go flat out for him and he is a tricky horse. You can see the way he went right and left up the straight, but he did it well in the end. We will see what the handicapper does with him now but he could go for the Boylesports Hurdle at Leopardstown next (January 28th).
Second favourite King comes out on top
I was very disappointed with him the last day but he probably needed the run a bit. He worked really well the other day. He is a three mile chaser in the making but it's so late in the season now we will wait until next year to go chasing with him. We will find a three mile winners hurdle for him now.
Dan Dan bounces back to his best
I train him for my mother Marie. It took him a while to get his jumping right. He is not over big but has a bit of class and that came through in the end.
Thyestes next up for Jack The Bus
I was at Michael O'Brien's funeral on the day and my son Francis didn't get in touch with me quick enough for me to tell him withdraw the horse.
Golden takes the last for Enright & Torrens
I thought she would win at Down Royal but it was a fair enough bumper and greenness as much as anything beat her. She is tough and we may have a look at the fillies' bumper in Aintree for her now and better ground will suit her.
