21 length winner on debut - his name is Expected
It was an impressive performance but the ground is near unraceable and he probably handled it well better than anything else,. He is a horse with a bit of class, he's a fine big scopey horse and we think he is one for the future.
Lee takes 1st 2 at Cork including the feature
Marmalade N Toast makes all for Flynn win
last year I was trying to make a two year old out of him but he was never going to be a two year although he always had ability. We had him fairly ready coming here today and with a bit of lucky I knew he'd run well. I thought he'd go on the ground and when I saw the small field and light weight we said we'd go out and make the running and if he wins, he wins. He'll come on from the race as he is a lovely block of a horse.
Allegio streaks home in mile contest by 33 lengths
I know it was only four runners but they have to go through the ground. Last year we thought he was a good ground horse but he has turned inside out over the winter. Seamie (Heffernan) said all last year he was on the weak side,. I'm not sure where we go from here but he is very good and I think the handicapper can't be as harsh as the winning distance because the others couldn't go. There are handicaps for him at the Guineas and Derby weekend and we'll also see what's in the U.K. We'll see how the handicapper reacts but hopefully he won't react the way he could if he wanted.
Wide margin winners to beat the Band at Cork
he’s a lovely horse, very relaxed, doesn’t overdo it, and that helped him in the ground. He’s a nice horse and the boss man (Weld) thought a bit of him coming here so it’s nice to get him across the line. He’s probably adaptable ground well, but he handled it well today.
Crosse really flying now after getting off mark on Friday
Shane (Crosse) gave her a peach of a ride and is a good lad,. He rode a lot of pony winners and is based with me a year, and that's his first winner for me (he won on G Force at Naas on Friday).
Slattery 1-2 as An Saighdiur wins 12th race
I didn't realise my other horse (Maysonette) had finished second until the commentator called him and my son Andrew and Ben (Coen, rider of Maysonette) are cousins, so it was a real family success,. I thought he'd (An Saighdiur) win as he has come down the weights in recent times and it's great he has won again.
