The Stewards enquired into the late declaration by Donald Cashman, trainer of War Of The Pennys, of the 6lb penalty due to be carried by the horse for winning a hurdle race on 12th August. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards found the trainer in breach of Rules 148 and 194 with regard to the declaration of a penalty and having taken his record into account imposed a fine of ?130.
An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards (123 = 11st 10lb) Weights - Top weight in the original handicap shall not be less than 11st 10lb Penalties - Winner of a hurdle after calculation of the handicap to carry 6lb extra for each hurdle race won.
