Ear-plugs the Key for O'Shea's mare
on paper, we were coming here for second place (behind 4/6 favourite Alpine Eagle) but maybe the race didn't ride as good as it looked beforehand. Red Key can get very wound up before and durng her races and we left in ear-plugs during today's race which seemed to help. Hopefully the handicapper won't take a literal view of the form and we'll keep her on the go as long as the ground stays good.
Magical Memoir gains his revenge
Elyaadi eases to Listowel win
Elyaadi deserved that bit of luck and may run in the Slan Abhaile Race here on Saturday before going to Wetherby at teh end of the month for a Mares Listed Hurdle.
Essex bounces back
the blinkers and fences seen to have rejuvenated Essex a little recently and he was finding it too competitive over hurdles recently. Andrew was very positive on him and gave him a brilliant ride. I've no plan from here.
Gonebeyondrecall Powers home at Listowel
I was hoping to get Gonebeyonerecall into the Kerry National on Wednesday but he was going to miss the ‘cut' and I suppose it worked out well that he did! He wants further and to this day I can't know how he, who was one of the best bumper horses of his year, took nine runs to win a chase!
Shepherd shows the way
The Sheperd King may prove to be a really good horse and I think he's a better horse than my Lucky William (rated 133 over hurdles). I'd prefer to go for a maiden hurdle next but he may try have another run in a bumper before then.
