Zannda another for Weld and Smullen
It was a tight battle and two jockeys riding at their very best. They are two brilliant riders and will give us plenty of entertainment in the coming year,. She's a nice filly and did her job, doing what we expected her to do. She'll appreciate better ground and will hopefully make a lovely filly over a mile-and-a-half as the year progresses. I always wanted this race for her. I see her as a progressive filly and definitely a stakes filly.
Zawraq looks serious classic contender
.It was an excellent performance by a horse coming back,. My immediate comment would be that I'll discuss things with Sheikh Hamdan as he has a lot of horses in England entered in the Guineas. I've always considered him a horse capable of making into a Derby horse and the decision will be whether we go for the English Guineas or wait for the Derrinstown Derby Trial.
Stormfly could be French Guineas bound
She had to battle hard to win on her previous start and was a very fit filly coming here. She just done enough last time but obviously progressed,. She handles the ground well and quickened nicely. She was always a good filly and was stakes placed last year. We'll maybe look at the French Guineas. She's tough and genuine. She idles a bit and is a lazy filly. She only does what she has to. She's the sort of filly that could suit that sort of race. She has a wonderful temperament and is really laid back. The blinkers just make her concentrate.
Days gives Condon and Foley a big Success
Most of my horses have been castrated well before now as invariably they're are not good enough, and when they are not good enough they start to act up. He has a very level temperament and a very good attitude,. He won on his second start at 25/1 and it was a little unexpected. He keeps giving us nice surprises. He doesn't show a lot in the mornings at home but obviously relishes those conditions. We said we'd make use of him as he had the run under his belt and possibly had the edge in fitness. The other two were always going to want a lead and it worked out great. I'm delighted. He's in the Irish Guineas but has no other fancy entries. I think the Irish Derby is later closing now and that's something we could look at. I'm sure the favourite will come out and do great things in the summer but it was our day today. I think he'll get further. The dam was Albany placed but he has such a relaxed way of doing things. He got a little bit anxious in a Listed race here last year and we drew a line through that. He was good at Cork and here today.
Zafayan completes another Weld four-timer
He's a very fit horse and I thought he'd be hard to beat. He loves that ground,. He's been very consistent and has run three seconds in his last three runs over hurdles. He was balloted out of the Fred Winter and I thought he'd run a very big race in that. He was trained for that.
A second winner at Leopardstown for Ng
That's some consolation for the Curragh. He ran some race in the Lincoln out where he was,. It was probably my fault as I told Silvestre to do his own thing but with a bit of company it might have been different. Although we were beaten a length in the end. He's a real decent horse. He just got caught out a couple of times at the back end of last year. Maybe his wind was catching him or he just didn't stay. In that ground he's a horse with a good bit of pace. He's a big rangy loose moving horse and he should stay as well. There is more to come from him and he should step up again. We'll probably step him up to a Listed race. As he's strengthened and developed he may even have gotten sharper. He's a horse with a great attitude, a lovely big horse.
186/1 Leopardstown double for 'Dusty'
It's nice to get going but I nearly didn't run her as I thought the ground would be too soft. She was ready to go though, and I'm delighted with her,. She'll keep going during the summer. She's won at two, three and four now.
