Hounds lands the odds in Tipp opener
Uasal scores for Berry and Oxx
She ran well at the Curragh in the big fillies handicap and liked the little ease in the ground today. It was nice comfortable ground,. It's a nice trip for her. We were messing around a bit trying to find her trip - the trainer was a bit slow to learn! Seven suits her and she might stretch to a mile. She's been in training for three years and that's her second win. The owners have been very patient with her.
Smullen shines on Initiation
That's a very welcome success,. The handicapper might have got him now. He's not the most straight forward but the fast pace suited him as he's very strong. Pat gave him a great ride. We'll probably head to Galway now for a seven furlong handicap.
Anadolu battles to Listed success
We always thought a lot of this filly. We were disappointed the last day but she didn't stay the six,. This was the plan and we'll have to see where she goes now. She has an awful lot of speed. The last time she met Dermot's filly (Moonlit Garden) she was right behind her at the five but just didn't get home. Pat gave her a peach of a ride. She can be difficult in the stalls but he got her out and well balanced. The owner is a trainer in Turkey and has a runner at the minute in a Group Two there. Hopefully he has an across the board double!
Celerina off the mark
Five furlongs is probably her trip. I'm pleased for the owner Mr Piller, who is from Switzerland,. When I was riding I used to go to Switzerland and I rode a lot for him. I was second in the Grand Prix at Saint Moritz on the ice.
Weather back to winning ways
He's been without a win for a long time but has been running well recently and deserves that,. We put the blinkers on him and Declan said he travelled well so they probably made a difference. He's very laid back and is a horse you can run regularly as racing doesn't take a lot out of him We don't really want to run him on hard ground though. He could go to Laytown, where he has been first and second the last couple of years. There is also a sprint at the Curragh next weekend. He's a good horse for his owners as he runs a lot and is a great fun horse.
Countess sticks head out in last
She's very well bred and we're delighted to get her head in front,. We'll probably try and find a listed race for her now. She's very game and has a great attitude.
