As Tears Go By proves an able deputy for Elliott
Daisy Dufresne gets up late to give Elliott quick double
Innisfree Beauty denies Elliott across the card five timer
Her form hadn’t been too bad, it just sort of petered out but she did have a great run in Thurles one day over this sort of trip. We said we’d let her come here fresh and have a good go from the front and Mark was very good on her. She was tough and she stays that trip well and probably would get a little bit further. He said he couldn’t pull her up afterwards. There’s a nice race for her in Cork in three weeks time, a mares’ handicap with topweight rated 95, aIthough it depends on what the handicapper does. She’s a half-sister to Galvin so she’s a lovely broodmare prospect. Hopefully we’ll win another one with her and she’ll jump a fence too which is exciting.
Skippin Court lands gamble for Fahey
He wasn’t right after his Punchestown run and we gave him plenty of time to come back here. There’s a great (Dexys Midnight Runners) syndicate involved in him. A lot of them are from Leixlip and Neil (Ryan) is good friends with them. It’s great that he got the spin and ended up winning on him. I’d say they’ll have a bit of craic tonight. They went a good gallop there and turned it into a test of stamina. Being out wide on the better ground probably helped him as well. He’ll definitely be better when we step him up in trip and he’ll probably go for one of the two mile-five handicaps at Galway. He’s a nice horse and he’ll be even better over a fence.
Sphagnum a welcome winner for Shane Broderick
Geoghegan gains first win as conditional on Lee's stayer
It's great for Robbie. He rode around thirty point-to-point winners but he was out of the game for a while. He's with me the last two years and is a great worker. Himself and two girls and myself ride eight or nine lots a day. He gave him a brilliant ride, he never asked him and he kept it economical. It's great for Rose and John Devitt who are great supporters of ours. We had four horses here that we thought would make the frame and they did, and we nearly had a double. We were done by a head on the line earlier (with Ladiam). They're in great form and that's all down to the hard work at home. We've 25 horses in and we're working very hard to make progress.
Swan impresses On The Sixth Day
She’s a real nice mare and she’ll go to Galway now for a winners’ bumpers. She’s a smashing mare to have, a big strong mare who’s well bred and we’re very fond of her. She stays very well and is very genuine.
