Jack Kennedy made up for an earlier disappointment when getting Daisy Dufresne up close home to win the Durkin Bros. Electrical Maiden Hurdle at Sligo.

Having been forced to pull up Wrecking Ball Paul in the first race, then see stablemate As Tears Go By go on and win, the Dingle man might have been thinking it wasn't going to be his day.

However, he delivered a power packed ride aboard the Gordon Elliott trained mare here, battling on strongly from the back of the last to head Ladium right on the line.

Elliott was winning his third race in under an hour, having also been on the scoresheet at Perth(1.45).

Jack Kennedy said: “I wasn’t sure if I’d get there at the back of the last but she dug deep for me.

“A stiff two miles like that suits her. I’d say two and a half would just stretch her a little bit.”
