Rose impresses on her debut
I'm very surprised, but she did it well and came home well. I thought she needed the run but she had shown a bit at home. Colm gave her a great ride and he said there is more improvement in her. Obviously she handled the ground well.
Faleena continues Flynn's winning streak
Well backed Allegra makes all to score
She did it well although it probably was an ordinary enough race. She might run tomorrow in the Curragh (declared for the 6f handicap at 3:20) otherwise she will be back her next Friday night.
Mizani eases to feature race success
He did it well and we thought by the way he travelled in his races that dropping him back in trip (to a mile) wouldn't inconvenience him. He quickened up impressively today and he likes an ease in the ground. I'm not saying we won't go back up to a mile and a quarter with him but that was a nice win for him today. His future is in stakes races. He is a gorgeous big horse who is relaxed and straight forward and he has improved with each run.
Deserved victory for consistent Balrath
She loved the ground and Declan said she wasn't doing a stroke. Her owner (John Quinn) bred her as well and he has her dam (Best Shift). We might look for a winners race or a handicap for her now depending on what the handicapper does. I hadn't intended running her again so soon but she came of her last race so well and this looked the perfect race for her.
Artist provides Rogers & Foley with doubles
Shane was very good on him. He was strong on him as he is a lazy horse. The track and ground suited him. He has been a disappointing horse for a year now. He is hard to keep right and has had lots of niggly problems. He might run in Roscommon now on Monday or Tuesday night (entered on both nights).
Fluidity compensates McNamara for loss of finger
The horse owed him that (referring to the incident at Dundalk in November)! . He has been a bit frustrating. Unusually for one of mine he didn't love the surface at Dundalk. Emmet rides him in all of his work at home. He likes the turf and a bit of dig in the ground. He might go for the Ulster Derby at Down Royal now and he might fit the bill for National Hunt racing for someone at the end of the season.
