Going - Yielding to soft in places. Overcast and showery
Monastrell at his best in Down Royal again
Kyoto finally gets to the Summit
That was his first time over two and a half miles on that ground so it was a surprise to me. I knew he was very well at home though and if comes out of this okay he'll run at Dundalk next Friday.
Montan back at number one in Down Royal
I had no worries about him over the trip (won his maiden over two and a half). He is very versatile and we were aiming at today for quite some time. We have no real plans now and it's nice for Billy as he lost Drumconvis in the Irish National back in April. He could have been anything.
Kauto's Star still shines brightly
Having had the fall in the Gold Cup it was a worry but he jumped great today. He was very unlucky in the Gold Cup as he made a mistake and paid for it heavily. We done a lot of work on his jumping at home. We'll know at the end of the week how much this race has taken out of him and we'll decide on a Hennessy bid then. We've left plenty to work on and don't forget he beat two decent horses there today. If he doesn't go for the Hennessy he'll go straight for the King George. Ruby was chuffed to bits with him and hopefully we'll be back here next year.
The Nightingale on song at Down Royal
The Nightingale doesn't mind going right or left handed as long as the ground is soft. He jumped better than he did at Aintree last time and we worked on that at home. It's brilliant to come over here and win two good races like that.
Harbour a Darling for Casey & Moore
I wasn't sure whether he'd handle the ground but he has come right and we'll keep him going during the winter.
Bayross one for the books in Down Royal finale
