The Clerk of the Scales reported that Sam Coltherd, the rider of the winner, Wheelbahri (GB), trained by Stuart Coltherd, had weighed in at 10st 12lbs having weighed out at 10st 10lbs.
The rider, the trainer and the Clerk of the Scales were interviewed.
Coltherd was suspended for 3 days for weighing in at 2lb overweight.
The performance of Here We Have It (IRE), which finished fifth of five finishers, was considered.
L J Morgan’s explanation that the race may have come too soon for the gelding having raced 16 days previously was noted.
