MR MEDICI won this well and certainly looks to have gone the right way over the winter. The colt's current rating of 102 is unlikely to be altered following his easy win over two rivals which have a few questions to answer. Winnign jockey Declan McDonogh later reported "we have always liked this colt and the reason he disappointed at Dundalk, last September, was probably due to the surface. He appreciates a 'give' in the ground and there may be a decent race to be won with him abroad."

PROVINCIAL narrowly won a Roscommon maiden last October and ran probably as well as could be expected here, against two high rated and experienced rivals. The colt should not be too harshly treated by the handicapper following this run and should win again.

GREATWALLOFCHINA was a big disappointment. The colt is rated 109 following two decent runs in Group 1 company as a two year old but is still a maiden and looks nowhere near as good as that mark. He dropped right out of contention today and, unless there is a valid veterinary excuse for this run, is one to avoid until he recaptures his best form.
