Maher takes on cross country king and wins
Peter has been unlucky all week but he's got one up now anyway. I knew this lad would gallop away and that he was fit after winning on his last run. He jumps banks like hell. I won on Big Shu here before - he was in a different class altogether. That's my Gold Cup, and I threw the kitchen sink at it today with three runners. He (Mtada Supreme) was great and always pulls out a bit more. Quantitativeeasing is a class animal but I'd say the La Touche probably took its toll. I love cross country racing, and somebody has to take on Enda Bolger.
Flyer one for a National next year
Everything went foot perfect. He jumped for fun, and it all went right to plan the whole way. Noel was fantastic on him. It's great for the Masterson family who are delighted, and they've been great supporters of mine from the start. After his last gallop I've never known Noel to be as excited about one. He's a novice all next season, and it's possible he could go for the four-miler at Cheltenham and then go for a National.
Whiteout now a Grade 1 queen
Paul gave her a game ride from the front. We decided to change tactics today and it paid off. She likes this track and jumped really well,. I booked her to visit Shantou during the week. She is entered in the Chester Cup but won't go there now. I think there is a good Flat handicap left in her though. Limini didn't jump well enough.
Jade much the best of the 4 year olds again
Mullins and Townend keep good Company
This fella jumped brilliant the whole way for me. I was probably in front a fraction too soon but when he was going I didn't want to disappoint him. Thankfully he got me out of a hole and stayed going to the line. When he heard the other horse coming he pulled out for me again. He ran too free in Cheltenham but he settled brilliantly today. The addition of the hood and the strong gallop probably helped. He's doing everything right and he's going the right way. He's a fine, big staying chaser and just ran too free at Cheltenham. We wanted to run him in the bet365 Chase at Sandown but he didn't get in. He's done it nicely and looks a National horse, and could run in something like the Hennessy.
Anibale Fly delivers on the promise
He was a bit disappointing the last day and everything went right today. He took on a very good horse (Bellshill) when he was third at Naas,. He's only a young horse, and hopefully he's learning from his races. He's big enough that he could jump a fence.
Meade gets one on the board
Things have not been flowing for us all week but it's great to get a winner. He's a nice horse, and will be let off now and go hurdling next season.
