Dual point to point winner SANDYZAR had lost his way over fences during the winter and trainer Carl Dore's wise decision to revert to hurdling paid off here. The gelding is built like a real chaser and Dore did mention "he loves soft ground and just lost his way over fences a bit. The blinkers are a help and that should help his confidence a lot - he may go back for a handicap chase next." The winner did jump a little awkward at times today but should figure in chases if getting his jumping together.
LION NA BEARNAI had not shown an awful lot in previous runs but may pick up a race, possibly a handicap, at some stage on this evidence.
Point to point winner OUR ERIC stayed on well without ever threatening for third and looks a nice sort. He qualifies for handicaps after one more hurdle run and may be worth following in that sphere while 106 rated STORM BREAKER is possibly flattered by that rating but nonetheless ran a sound race.
DROMORE EXPRESS ran ok but is no star while further back PARZANNI and dual point to point winner BENALMA both performed reasonably well and may be worth following in the future.
GOLDEN HARE was never involved and disappointed.
Non-Runners were Adamantix (lame), Banjoman (no excuse) and Ford Of Wells (ground).
