The skies clear and Celestial Object shines brightly
I think the only other winner I've had by Galileo is Supasundae!. She's not very big but she's tough and hardy. All she wants to do is please you. She'll go home now and come back early in the spring. Shane said he's not certain that she wants that very soft ground. She won a barrier trial on good ground and loved it. We'll see next spring and I'd say we'll be looking at stakes company the way she won there and the way she's bred.
Donnacha re-routes to Leopardstown and extends title advantage
He's progressing. He had a good run here the last day, when Padraig (Beggy) rode him, and the lads were very happy with him,. Donnacha said he feels like a nice colt. These Gleneagles are tough, genuine and have speed, which is good, and they progress. There is probably not much left for him now but we'll start him in a Guineas trial or something like that next year. For a horse that would like a nice bit of ground you'd have to be very happy with him.
Bolger stable's fine form continues
She was looking around up the straight here the last day and the shades helped,. I don't think there is another nursery left, she'll be value next year. She'll probably stay a mile-and-a-quarter and goes on all ground.
Funk finds form to land Knockaire
Obviously it wasn't expected if Colin didn't ride him but I'm delighted for Gary. He normally gets more than that off us in a season, it's been slim enough pickings this year,. I'm delighted for him and delighted for Sean. There has been a lot of patience and he was in the sales this week. Gary rode him the last day and we said we'd give him another season. He's one of the old guys and we'll hold on to him. He's been suffering with allergies or something all year although I'm only guessing what it was. He was just off form. We didn't fancy him coming here but knew that he would handle the ground. If he was back to anything like his old self he was capable of doing that. It's a nice way to end the season. To be honest we were trying to be clever saying 'that's next year's Lincoln horse' but I'd say I've messed that one up!
Sonaiyla bounces back to gain narrow win
Another Group race winner for Shane Crosse
He travelled well, Shane said he quickened up very well and had a bit of a look when he got to the front,. He'll have his break now and come back for a nice race in the spring. He's a Camelot so he'll go ten furlongs anyway and then we'll go from there.
Evergreen McCullagh lands October Handicap on Melburnian
She's a filly that I got this time last year and it took a long time to get into her head. She's just a bit hard on herself,. She was a bit unlucky the last day in Newmarket but it all came right today. She's been threatening to so that since Listowel and it's great it worked out it's just a pity the lads weren't here. It's a great pot to land. She's only four, she wasn't big and backward but in her head she was and she's a nice filly going forward next year, I'd say.
