The winner, Bags Groove (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Kempton on 26 December 2018, where the gelding finished fifth of seven beaten by 36½ lengths.
Harry Fry’s explanation that the geldings last race may have come too soon having run 16 days previously and that Bags Groove (IRE) had since benefited from a 59-day break was noted.
Bags Groove (IRE) was routine tested.
