Scooping wins for Delany/Maxwell
we didn't think she was entitled to be 66/1. She's a half sister to Won In The Dark and is as tough as nails and gives you everything. She has jumped for fun since we schooled her in April and we'll look at the good hurdle races at Fairyhouse and Leopardstown now.
Buckley aims to Rock The World at Breed'Cup
that was a little bit overdue. He's had niggly problems, sore shins and a wind operation.
McManus and Walsh team up for big h'cap win
he deserved it in fairness as he doesn't know how to run a bad race. You just wonder with him creeping up the handicap would he win a big one and we'll look at Fairyhouse at the end of November and then Leopardstown at Christmas. He could probably do with a little break at some stage as he has been on the go a long time.
Road To Riches wins JN Wine Chase
that's terrific, everything went a dream. They left him alone in front and he had a couple of great jumps up the back which stretched them. This was always the plan; he was a bit undercooked going to Gowran and is still slightly heavy today - five or six kilos 'over' from Galway. He's a good horse and I'll probably leave him now until Christmas where we'll go to the Lexus if it's not too heavy. I'd love to go for the Gold Cup, but there's more things to be done and he's not going to have his next run in the Gold Cup.
Cossack enters King George/Gold Cup picture
to be fair Gigginstown opted for this race but he beat Road To Riches last year so he wouldn't have been out of place in the Grade 1. I thought it was a good performance and he jumped well the whole way. I liked the way he put distance on them from the third last to the line.
Doubles for Carberry/Elliott with 31L winner
he seemed to handle the ground well and he jumped well. He handles better ground and will go for something similar. Paul gave him a good ride.
Newcoming son of Presenting wins bumper
he was always going to be a big price coming out of a small yard but we were waiting for a bit of rain and thought a few days ago if the ground was safe, he'd take all the beating. The boys backed him at 40/1 this morning and my brother had a good few quid on him!. he's a real good horse and we thought we'd make plenty of use of him as he's a tough sort who would be hard to pass.
