Hugh Nugent, the rider of Achille (FR), was unseated on the bend leaving the home straight going out for the final circuit.
The Stewards were satisfied that no other horse or rider was involved and found that the incident was caused by Nugent's right stirrup leather snapping resulting in him becoming unbalanced and unseating.
After inspecting the stirrup leather and being satisfied that it was in a serviceable condition prior, no further action was taken.
Entering the back straight on the final circuit, Time To Get Up (IRE), placed third, which was racing tight to the inside of Gwencily Berbas (FR), unplaced, became badly unbalanced when its hind quarters made contact with the running rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The Stewards noted that approximately halfway down the back straight on the final circuit, the riderless Achille (FR) ran wide and carried Hewick (IRE), which was later pulled up, badly off its intended line for some distance.
Following the race, Harry Fry reported that Captain Drake (IRE), which was pulled up, had a breathing problem.
