Champion Hurdle hero Walsh wins Limerick opener
Breeding to die for and performance not half bad either
Hogan seeking further success for Aim For Glory
I won't rush him but we might find a winners' race now and we'll see what happens after that - I gave him a good name anyway!. he is a very nice horse and is still very green and is still learning his trade. I'm delighted for Terry (O'Reilly) as it is the first horse he has ever owned. He is based in Boston and flew over for the race. He flew over to Gowran the last day when I thought he'd win but he was a little bit unlucky. It didn't happen but he has got his result today. He is a beautiful jumper and it was unfortunate at Gowran, when he just caught the top of the hurdle. He goes on that and on good ground and he'll stay further today. I'm delighted to have a nice horse and he hopefully he can win a couple of more and can win on the flat as well.
Meyler registers quick Limerick double
That was badly needed! She is a tough little mare and I'm just delighted for John and Ita Malone and they are very supportive of us and she is a real trooper. Donagh gave her a lovely ride and it was great for him to have a double,. She loves hurdling and it was testing enough out there today and she didn't mind it and kept plugging away. She is a real hard working filly. We will have a bit of fun with her for the summer and we'll keep her happy and fresh at home.
Young Dev scores for trainer/jockey Hogan
I'm delighted to have another winner for Liam (Mulryan) as he is a good supporter and is one sound man. He is here, he doesn't always come racing but it was lovely to have him here today. He is still a bit weak and it is deplorable ground and he wandered around on it. It was a low grade event today but he'll have a nice future in handicap hurdles. He is a lovely staying chaser in time and his brother by Sholokov (point to point winner Wide Receiver) made GBP410,000 at the sales two weeks ago.
Cayd Boy a name to note after striking debut win
I have always loved him and he is by a super sire who is a half-brother to Nickname; he is the up and coming big sire in France,. He has a lovely pedigree and I quietly fancied him a lot today. He has never given me a bad day and those are hard to find. He is strong, fit and mature and will come back here for the Listed 4YO Bumper here in a few weeks time.
