Permission was given for Chetan (GB) to go to post early.
The Starter reported that Plunger (GB) was the subject of a third criteria failure.
David Evans was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
As it was the second occasion within the previous 12 months that Plunger (GB) had been reported, a further report within the same period would mean the gelding would be prevented from having a stalls test for 6 months.
An enquiry was held to consider interference turning into the home straight when No Diggity (IRE), placed seventh, ridden by Hollie Doyle, interfered with Evasive Power (USA), placed fifth, ridden by Kieran Shoemark.
Doyle was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as she switched left for a run without being sufficiently clear of Shoemark, which resulted in him being shifted off his intended line and stop riding momentarily.
The winner, Love Destiny (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Southwell on 18 December 2020 where the colt finished seventh of eight runners, beaten by 31 lengths.
It was noted that the representative of Mark Johnston could offer no explanation for Love Destiny (GB)’s improved form on this occasion.
The colt was routine tested.
Following the race, the representative of Robyn Brisland reported that Evasive Power (USA), placed fifth, made a respiratory noise.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Chetan (GB), placed second, lost its right- fore shoe.
