Plan strikes Gold for Fahey
He won his point-to-point on similar ground. He just wasn't right in himself the last day but apart from that he was running consistently well all year. We'll keep him going as long as it's soft, and if it dries out we'll leave him off.
Russell on the mark again with Feenakilmeedy
The owner was pushing me for this race because of the €5,000 bonus (ITBA National Hunt Fillies Scheme). She was unlucky the last day where she made a bad mistake at the first but she'd a good run here over Christmas before that. We'll try to get her some black type in a mares' race now.
Todd enjoys the Limerick air again
Sir Harry finally Cashes in
He's been very consistent and deserves his day. He's very straight forward and easy to ride but Shane gave him a super ride the last day and, even though plenty of lads were looking for the ride today, I decided to stick with him. He's a super jumper and hopefully the handicapper won't be too hard on him.
Punters go Bust with 33/1 winner
He'd a good run when he was placed behind Chute Hall in our local point-to-point at Belclare. They went too quick for him at Navan last time. I was afraid he wouldn't get home today but they went steady and it worked out well.
School comes up trumps on debut
I thought he'd need the run on that heavy ground but he's a very genuine and placid horse. He's by a very good stallion who had a winner at Cheltenham with Holywell. I've nothing in mind but he has schooled well over hurdles.
Ardnahoe could be Liverpool bound
It was Kate's first ride for me and she did very well. I knew she was a tough one but didn't know how she'd handle the sticky ground. It was a nice performance. If it's soft we might run her at Liverpool in the mares bumper. We can afford to go now.
