Land makes all in Curragh opener
He came forward lovely from his first run. We were a bit worried about the heavy ground over six furlongs but he came forward lovely,. Donnacha was very happy with him. He's a hardy horse, and is going to take racing, so he could come back here for the Marble Hill. You'd be delighted with him.
Progressive Urban defies top-weight
Shane said he was a little bit lonely on his own and he thought he was on the wrong side,. He got racing a bit early and pinched a couple of lengths on them. We think he's a nice horse. He was working very well last year. His mark of 89 looked stiff but Shane said he'd be competitive off 89 on his work during the week. He has stepped on in his work. We'll see what the handicapper does. He's on his way to being a nice horse. He has the strength, he's big and he's physical. We've a few nice sprinters at home, the likes of Golden Spell, and they are all going well together. We have a good line on them now. I'm hopeful that he will step up into to group class later in the year. I'd love to get another go in a handicap so hopefully the handicapper is not as hard on him this time as he was the last time. Fitzwilliam Racing are absolutely flying. This is a Fitzwilliam one, Fitzwilliam two have all the two-year-olds. It's a lot of the same people rolling over again, we just need a two-year-old to win now.
'Pensioner' Ardhoomey bags another win
We love him. With him and Brendan Brackan in the yard you are in safe hands,. Colin said he got tired at the end and he thought she (Gorane) was going to get back up and do him. He's one of those old age pensioners in the yard that does what it says on the tin. I'm delighted to have him. His wind doesn't seem to be as bad this year as it has started on other years. He should improve from that. This winter we've said we wouldn't mind having a go at seven at some stage. If his wind allows us that's what we'd like to do. It's just fun with him. Whatever presents itself, and while he's around and has a heartbeat, we'll partake and have fun with him.
MacRedmond & Prendergast team-up with Brave
I'm delighted. He's been up in Dundalk and I knew he needed a break from there,. I was worried that the ground would be so soft and he had a lot of weight. I spoke to Willie (McCreery) and said to him I might claim. He said that horses run for Cian. Cian's father Mark is my vet so it was a great result. He's a great fun horse and is after winning four races in the last 12 months. I thought he was as high as he wants to be and the 10lb claim was the key.
Baby says Bye Bye to Blue Wind rivals
You'd be delighted with that and she came forward lovely from Navan,. She's a very straight-forward filly and I couldn't be happier. She'll go to Epsom next (for the Oaks). She's very straight-forward, very uncomplicated and stays well. She's a very well bred filly too. On their first runs I'm never surprised. Obviously we've seen the improvement can be out of this world sometimes. When they start off, they start off, and you just want them to progress. The first day is just the start.
Lyons & Keane double-up with Inscribe
That was lovely. We think there is a nice handicap in him, but for him to get into the handicaps that we like, he had to win something like this. He's done it well and he'll improve. Ten is his optimum trip and any ground bar fast I'd say. We like this horse. The races we were picking for him were stepping stones.
Carlo impresses in debut win
He did it well and he stays well,. He'll probably go for something like the Gallinule or the Nijinsky Stakes. We'll see where we're going after that then. Chris said the hardest job was pulling him up before the boards. He's a nice horse. He matured a lot over the winter. He was a big raw horse last year and we were in two minds whether we'd run him or not. We gave him the time and it worked out. Chris said he wasn't in love with that ground. The dream is alive.
